Film Kraków: Kraków is a live, film myth. Well known Polish filmmakers are related to the city: Jerzy Hoffman, Roman Polański, Krzysztof Zanussi, Andrzej Wajda, Marcin Koszałka, Małgorzata Szumowska, Wojciech Has, Piotr Wojtowicz, Piotr Lenar, Daria Woszek, and Billy Wilder was born near Kraków. Steven Spielberg shot Schindler’s List in Kraków, and many well known festivals take place in the city: Etiuda & Anima, Kraków Film Festival, Netia Off Camera, and the international Film Music Festival. In Kraków viewers can take advantage of cozy, often historical cinema auditoriums, including Kino pod Baranami which is a member of the elite network of cinemas – Europa Cinemas. AMA FILM ACADEMY takes inspiration from this tradition, focusing a new cinema environment around itself. Kraków possesses a remarkable atmosphere resulting from the influences of many cultures and artistic currents: Italian renaissance, imperial Austria-Hungary, and rebellious Poland. Outside of the city it is also possible to find beautiful terrains – picturesque lakes and not so distant mountains. Kraków is generally regarded as the cultural capital of Poland. Kraków is the birthplace of the globally known contemporary classical music of Krzysztof Penderecki as well as compositions created by remarkable film music composers: Zygmunt Konieczny, Zbigniew Preisner, Abel Korzeniowski, and Jan Kaczmarek.
